Sedona, AZ on Cathedral Rock
Andrew and I were on vacation in beautiful Sedona Arizona and met my best friend from Middle School and her Husband there who flew in from North Carolina. We got in Saturday afternoon and hung out that day just taking everything in and enjoying the amenities that our resort had. We had planned on all going for a hike on Sunday, 11/15 to Cathedral Rock, one of the most talked-about hikes that has the most incredible 360-degree view of all Red Rock mountains. We got up early, had breakfast, well Andrew opted for a smoothie which was very unlike him considering Breakfast is his favorite food, and then headed over to the Trail head. He decided to wear a jacket but also keep a jacket in the backpack for when he gets to "sweaty" and needed to switch it out, weird but okay I thought. We started the hike and Andrew led the way. He was basically running up the mountain he was going so fast and hardly said a word as the 3 of us lagged behind joking and talking about random things. When the trail came to a T Andrew chose the path that had significantly less people. We walked for about 5 more minutes and the whole time his head was on a swivel looking up and all around trying to find the perfect spot as I was just walking behind him with not a clue of what was really going on and mainly picking up "vortex rocks". Well the time came for him to take off his jacket and "put it in the bag" and I agreed so I started to take mine off too and as he reached in the bag he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most incredible ring in his hand. I think he said some other really sweet words too but that is truly all I remember. It was the perfect spot and with the help of the other couple with us we have plenty of photos documenting the entire moment. It was something I always said I would see coming but this was the most epic surprise and better than I have ever imagined it.
