It was the day before Easter and Mitch decided it would be a great evening to go trail riding with the horses. I didn't think anything of it because we ride horses all the time. Turns out it would be the beginning of a great life together. We took the horses to a pasture that my family owns which overlooks the beautiful Missouri River. Mitch had cut the fence so we had access to the most perfect sunset casting down on the river. He hid four Easter Eggs with special notes written to me in trees leading up to a picnic table with our favorite bottle of wine. My hair was a mess, I was in dirty old farm clothes, and definitely did not have my nails ready for the occasion. Nonetheless, he got down on one knee and said "Kristan you are the only person I've ever wanted to spend the rest of my life with, will you marry me?" He completely caught me off guard with the most beautiful ring I could have ever asked for (which he completely picked out by himself). Just an ordinary Easter weekend turned into a celebration of our favorite things... horses, wine, the river, and the rest of our life together.
