Heather & Jeff proposal story

Jeff and I met on a christian dating site after each of us experienced broken hearts and broken marriages. If you ask us, it truly was love at first sight, when our eyes met at the restaurant where we had our first date. We enjoyed our dinner together so much that we extended the evening and went to a nearby park to sit and talk for hours! We now laugh when we tell the story of how he asked me for a kiss at the end of the night, but I politely declined and asked for a hug, instead. What?! In my defense, we are both in our 50's and as a newly single person, I just wasn't sure of the etiquette of a first date! Thankfully, there was a second date and he didn't ask for the kiss that time!

We both knew that one day we would be married but there were some logistics as well as timing to figure out. After 20 months of a long-distance relationship that we were trusting in God to work out the details of, Jeff got down on one knee while we were taking an evening walk around town enjoying a gentle snowfall. It was the most romantic "Hallmark movie moment" I could have imagined and the ring he selected was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen (he did well!)

Jeff and I will be married this summer in a quaint, little church surrounded by our families and we are counting down the days with excitement! As for the logistics, we've arranged for me to relocate this season to be with him, and we have a long-term plan that includes a second home so we can both be near our loved ones!

We are enjoying planning our wedding and our honeymoon together, and we are so very grateful for the broken road that led us to find one another!
