PROPOSAL STORY:
In January 2023, Matt made all of my dreams come true by getting down on one knee at our favorite event of the year - the National Pond Hockey Championships, and asking me to marry him. I said, "of course!" We even made the news. I regularly get asked if I knew the proposal was coming. That morning, we had our first game of the day and Matt and I made a fun little bet that he wouldn't get a hat trick (three goals). The stakes were 10 pushups per goal difference from a hat trick. And guess what, Matt got six goals so I had 30 push-ups to do! In true Amy fashion, I made a scene about this and paid my bets at center ice. So right before our next game when the news lady asked if she could mic me up, I assumed she saw the entertainment from our previous game and was looking for some fun footage! We had a busy January with multiple trips and I kept guessing wrong, so by this time I had given up trying to figure out when the proposal was going to happen and it was the best surprise.
