PROPOSAL STORY:
The only thing Yesenia asked for was that the proposal be a complete surprise. As a prosthodontics resident, her holiday break was the perfect opportunity to spend time with her family in Mexico. Meanwhile, I was heading to Minnesota to spend time with part of my own family—or at least, that’s what she thought. Behind the scenes, I had been secretly coordinating with her family to pull off the ultimate surprise.
Yesenia believed I would be visiting more relatives in the States for New Year’s, but instead, I was on my way to Mexico with a question to ask. On New Year’s Eve, she thought she was headed to an event with her family, but instead walked into a surprise proposal. As mariachi played, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.
She said YES! We spent the most incredible night celebrating with both of our families, surrounded by love, laughter, a little tequila and the perfect beginning to our forever.
